My Faux Tan Tips
Once upon a time, I was an avid spray-tanner. After a decade of speaking, I can’t even COUNT how many times I got a spray tan… but time after time it would end up being too dark… as it faded it would be splotchy… I knew I needed to figure something else out.
Meet Liquid Confidence! You might remember me talking about it in this post here! It’s organic, doesn’t have that faux-tanner smell (gross!) and I can say with full confidence (wink wink) that it saves me SO much time and money.
If you’re looking to get a little color, you want to cut down on spray tans, or even if you’re just curious -- I wanted to share some of my faux tan tips!
1. Timing is Everything
I really recommend putting on your faux tan in the mornings, no matter what product you use. That way you can let it sit for a few hours, shower off the excess, and then you’ll be good to go. If you faux tan at night, you run the risk of getting it all over your sheets, no thanks!
2. Be Prepped and Ready
To get the absolute best tan, make sure you’re all shaved and exfoliated! It helps the product go on evenly and gives you a better glow when all is said and done.
3. Avoid Your Face
Okay, I know a lot of people faux tan their faces, but it’s not for me. I’d rather warm up my face with some bronzer! If you DO put some on your face, I’d recommend mixing in just a little bit of the product into your moisturizer! That way it goes on evenly and isn’t too much at once.
4. Post Faux Tan
Your tan doesn’t begin and end with your faux tanner! Wear light and bright colors to bring out some contrast or throw on a shimmer body oil to really get that glow! Even light nail polish, like a light pink or white, can really bring out your tan.
